Here is a paper cut that I did today and I was quite surprised how quickly I did it! It only took 40mins!

Here's a nice idea from Danish artist Jacob Dahlstrup: creating images using a tattooing machine on heavy watercolour paper

Dahlstrup sketches the design in pencil first, then goes over it with the tattoo needle to create the final effect

Paper Cut - Getting There

A few weeks ago I mentioned that I wanted to do a paper cut for my mum's birthday. Here is what I have done so far.

Paper Cut

It is mum's 50th birthday in November and I want to make her something special as well as the standard shop bought present. I have been wanting to try out paper cutting for a long time and now that I have the time and occasion I thought I would try it.

The design of what I am going to do is below. I have inverted the colours to make it easier for myself when cutting. I will be cutting out the black areas.
